Guerrilla's in Those Days |
The newly published guide book 'GUERRILLA TREK, aka THE
SHANGRI-LA TREK) give excerpt as – The Guerrilla Trek offers a remarkable
journey through the heartland of post-conflict territory. The route takes you through Myagdi, Rukum and
Rolpa spectacular districts with low population density at the epicenter of
Nepal's ten year conflict and homeland to many revolutionaries.
The land is blessed with wide-ranging natural resources and
biodiversity exemplified by its wildlife (60% of Dhorpatan Reserve),
captivating waterfalls, rivers, caves,
and delightful lakes as well as the towering sublime Himalaya….
I had been to this trek while I was working as support staff
in one of the big groups long time ago when the Maoist Insurgency was not even
started (in 1995). In 2010 I had trekked
in Dolpo with a friend of mine in which we employed some previous Maoist
Rebels. I would be more than happy to
provide support service to this newly introduced trekking trail of which the
detail will be provided up on request.
